Minor observations - I

Quick post today, just a few things I've noticed.
  • Jetlag is not just for "other people."
  • Jetlag and exhaustion from a long school year do not play nicely together.
  • The sun really does come up a lot earlier during the summer over here.
  • The rain doesn't have to be falling very hard, and you don't have to be out in it very long, to get soaked, provided the individual raindrops are big enough.
  • There doesn't have to be a gap between the flash of lightning and the sound of thunder.
  • A region or nation can have a reputation for bad weather and still not know how to deal with bad weather very well.
  • Whoever decided to combine meat stock and cornstarch into one product was a genius.
  • An English meal and an Irish meal can feature exactly the same food, yet still be completely different things.
  • When it comes to patriotism, Americans are actually kind of pansies.
  • Getting an undergraduate degree in politics does not guarantee that you will understand Irish politics.
  • The words "British accent" contain about as much meaning as the words "European nation."
  • There may be some differences between British humans and American ones, but dogs are exactly the same.
  • Except that a much larger percentage of them have white fur, regardless of breed. I don't know what that's about.
